It was a busy weekend for the Weyburn Wrestling Club. On Saturday, 16 wrestlers attended the free clinic with Coach Fuji to learn new techniques and sharpen their skills prior to the tournament on Sunday.
The Barber Motors Youth Wrestling Tournament was a huge success. We saw roughly a 20% increase in participants this year from last year, a clear sign that wrestling has rebounded and the sport is growing again!
162 male and female wrestlers registered for the tournament from all age groups. The Weyburn kids had a strong showing with several gold medals and a consistent work ethic and compete level throughout the entire tournament.
Clubs from across Saskatchewan attended the tournament including Saskatoon, Moose Jaw, Swift Current, Regina and Manor.
